What is MFA?

MFA stands for Multi-Factor Authentication. It adds an extra layer of security by requiring an additional verification step beyond your password.

During the Set Your Vector registration process, you can use one of two verification methods:

  • SMS – Receive a verification code by text message. This option is currently available only for phone numbers registered in the United States or Canada.
  • TOTP (Time-Based One-Time Password) – Use an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, to generate a verification code.

If your phone number is registered outside the US or Canada, do not enter a phone number during registration. Use TOTP instead.

If you have already added an ineligible phone number to your account, the quickest resolution is to create a new account, leave the phone number blank, and use TOTP.
